Known as Utah's 'City of Trees,' Pleasant Grove is about a twenty-minute drive from the Culmone Percussion studio in Saratoga Springs. From the Battle Creek area to downtown, PG families find the trip well worth it.
Pleasant Grove wears its community pride on its sleeve, from the century-old Strawberry Days celebration to the Vikings' spirited music and drumline programs at Pleasant Grove High. Ken's lessons tap into that same enthusiasm, turning first-timers into confident percussionists ready for band, church, or the stage.
Why Pleasant Grove students learn with Ken Culmone
Ken Culmone is a certified professional instructor who has taught drummers and percussionists ages 4 to 74 for more than 30 years, all from his own home studio, where he's the only person who privately teaches each student. His comprehensive program can earn Pleasant Grove students school percussion credits, band participation, solo-competition success, and often college scholarships.
Every lesson is one-on-one and built around his “instruction with a positive influence” philosophy: reading and notation, the 40 rudiments, sticking and pedaling, music theory, melodic improvisation, and playing along to real music. Parents from Pleasant Grove are always welcome to observe from the couch in the studio.
