American Fork sits just up the freeway from the Culmone Percussion studio, about eighteen minutes east of Saratoga Springs. Families from the Art Dye Park area and up toward the canyon regularly make the short trip for lessons.
American Fork High has one of the most respected marching and concert band traditions in the state, and that culture of musical excellence runs deep in the city. Whether a student dreams of the Cavemen drumline or just wants to play for fun, Ken's step-by-step program builds the technique and musicianship to get there.
Why American Fork students learn with Ken Culmone
Ken Culmone is a certified professional instructor who has taught drummers and percussionists ages 4 to 74 for more than 30 years, all from his own home studio, where he's the only person who privately teaches each student. His comprehensive program can earn American Fork students school percussion credits, band participation, solo-competition success, and often college scholarships.
Every lesson is one-on-one and built around his “instruction with a positive influence” philosophy: reading and notation, the 40 rudiments, sticking and pedaling, music theory, melodic improvisation, and playing along to real music. Parents from American Fork are always welcome to observe from the couch in the studio.
