Draper straddles the Salt Lake–Utah county line at the top of the Point of the Mountain, about a twenty-two-minute drive from the Culmone Percussion studio. Draper families find the trip an easy one.
With Corner Canyon's trailheads, the Loveland Living Planet Aquarium, and the Chargers' strong music programs at Corner Canyon High, Draper is a community that invests in enrichment. Ken's lessons fit right in, building the discipline, coordination, and musicianship that help Draper students thrive in school ensembles and on their own kit.
Why Draper students learn with Ken Culmone
Ken Culmone is a certified professional instructor who has taught drummers and percussionists ages 4 to 74 for more than 30 years, all from his own home studio, where he's the only person who privately teaches each student. His comprehensive program can earn Draper students school percussion credits, band participation, solo-competition success, and often college scholarships.
Every lesson is one-on-one and built around his “instruction with a positive influence” philosophy: reading and notation, the 40 rudiments, sticking and pedaling, music theory, melodic improvisation, and playing along to real music. Parents from Draper are always welcome to observe from the couch in the studio.
