Herriman has exploded from a rural town into one of Salt Lake County's largest young cities, tucked against Butterfield Canyon, and it's about a twenty-minute drive to the Culmone Percussion studio. Herriman's many young families fit right into Ken's studio.
From Blackridge Reservoir to the Mustangs' fast-rising programs at Herriman High, this is a community built around active, growing families. Because so many Herriman schools are new, a private head start with Ken helps students shine when they audition for band, drumline, or percussion ensemble.
Why Herriman students learn with Ken Culmone
Ken Culmone is a certified professional instructor who has taught drummers and percussionists ages 4 to 74 for more than 30 years, all from his own home studio, where he's the only person who privately teaches each student. His comprehensive program can earn Herriman students school percussion credits, band participation, solo-competition success, and often college scholarships.
Every lesson is one-on-one and built around his “instruction with a positive influence” philosophy: reading and notation, the 40 rudiments, sticking and pedaling, music theory, melodic improvisation, and playing along to real music. Parents from Herriman are always welcome to observe from the couch in the studio.
