Just over the Point of the Mountain in southern Salt Lake County, Bluffdale is about an eighteen-minute drive to the Culmone Percussion studio in Saratoga Springs. For Bluffdale families, Ken's studio is one of the closest serious drum teachers around.
Bluffdale keeps a small-town, semi-rural feel even as new neighborhoods fill in around Porter Rockwell and Independence. That quieter pace is ideal for focused practice, and Ken's patient, encouraging style helps Bluffdale students of any age find their rhythm and stick with it.
Why Bluffdale students learn with Ken Culmone
Ken Culmone is a certified professional instructor who has taught drummers and percussionists ages 4 to 74 for more than 30 years, all from his own home studio, where he's the only person who privately teaches each student. His comprehensive program can earn Bluffdale students school percussion credits, band participation, solo-competition success, and often college scholarships.
Every lesson is one-on-one and built around his “instruction with a positive influence” philosophy: reading and notation, the 40 rudiments, sticking and pedaling, music theory, melodic improvisation, and playing along to real music. Parents from Bluffdale are always welcome to observe from the couch in the studio.
