Eagle Mountain families are practically neighbors. The Culmone Percussion studio sits just across the way in Saratoga Springs, roughly a ten-minute drive from most of the Cedar Valley and Pony Express corridor. That closeness makes a weekly lesson easy to fit around school and sports.
One of Utah's fastest-growing cities, Eagle Mountain is full of young families and brand-new schools like Frontier and Cedar Valley High that are still building out their music programs. A strong private foundation in rhythm, reading, and technique helps Eagle Mountain students stand out when they audition for band or drumline.
Why Eagle Mountain students learn with Ken Culmone
Ken Culmone is a certified professional instructor who has taught drummers and percussionists ages 4 to 74 for more than 30 years, all from his own home studio, where he's the only person who privately teaches each student. His comprehensive program can earn Eagle Mountain students school percussion credits, band participation, solo-competition success, and often college scholarships.
Every lesson is one-on-one and built around his “instruction with a positive influence” philosophy: reading and notation, the 40 rudiments, sticking and pedaling, music theory, melodic improvisation, and playing along to real music. Parents from Eagle Mountain are always welcome to observe from the couch in the studio.
