For Lehi families in Traverse Mountain, the Silicon Slopes tech corridor, or the historic downtown, the Culmone Percussion studio is an easy fifteen-minute hop west into Saratoga Springs. Plenty of Ken's students make the drive from Lehi every week.
Lehi pairs booming tech-industry growth with real competitive music programs at Skyridge and Lehi High, where drumline and percussion ensemble are taken seriously. Ken's curriculum of rudiments, sight-reading, and playing to real music is built to prepare Lehi students for those auditions and for solo-and-ensemble festival success.
Why Lehi students learn with Ken Culmone
Ken Culmone is a certified professional instructor who has taught drummers and percussionists ages 4 to 74 for more than 30 years, all from his own home studio, where he's the only person who privately teaches each student. His comprehensive program can earn Lehi students school percussion credits, band participation, solo-competition success, and often college scholarships.
Every lesson is one-on-one and built around his “instruction with a positive influence” philosophy: reading and notation, the 40 rudiments, sticking and pedaling, music theory, melodic improvisation, and playing along to real music. Parents from Lehi are always welcome to observe from the couch in the studio.
